Why we don’t auto-sync your sportsbook
It’s the feature we get asked for most, and we’ve chosen not to build it — on purpose. Here’s the honest reason.
Today, the only way to pull your bets from DraftKings, FanDuel, and the rest is screen-scraping: you hand a third-party service your sportsbook username and password, and it logs in as you to read your bet history. That’s how every “connect your book” feature in this category actually works under the hood.
We won’t do that, for three reasons that don’t go away:
- The books’ own terms forbid it. DraftKings and FanDuel explicitly prohibit automated access to your account. A tool that does it anyway is one policy change away from breaking — or from getting your account flagged.
- It means holding your password. We are not willing to store, or ask a vendor to store, the credentials to an account with your money in it. The safest place for that password is nowhere near us.
- A verified record shouldn’t depend on a loophole. The whole point of a public record is that it’s trustworthy. Building it on a method the books are actively trying to shut down is a bad foundation for the one thing we’re selling.
What we do instead: you log bets yourself in one tap, and your record is graded in the open — wins and losses alike.
If the books ever ship a real read-only API — some are starting to — we’ll add sync the day it’s available. We’re not against the feature. We’re against the only way it currently works.
