About StatIQ Sports
Who we are, what this is, where the data comes from
StatIQ is a sports research site for player props: projections, the betting lines next to them, and a public record of our own model’s picks, graded in the open. It is research, not a tip sheet. We are not a sportsbook, we take no wagers, and nothing here guarantees a result.
Who runs it
StatIQ Sports LLC is an Oklahoma limited liability company, founded and run by its founders. We build the projections, publish the record and read the mail that comes through Support.
What it is, and is not
- A projection is an estimate of what a player does in one game, shown beside the market line. It is not a bet to place.
- The record counts every official pick, wins and losses alike, with the population each figure is computed over.
- How each number is measured, and what result would prove a claim wrong, is on How we measure.
- Bet tracking on StatIQ is simulated, in units. The Terms say the rest.
Where the data comes from
- NFL: nflverse.
- NBA schedules, results, standings and player game logs: ESPN.
- College basketball stats, rankings and standings: BALLDONTLIE.
- College football schedules, results, rankings and team stats: CollegeFootballData. College football player game logs: ESPN.
- Betting lines and prices come from third-party odds feeds. They can be delayed, so confirm any line at the book before you act on it.
Most pages say which source they read and when they were last updated.
Corrections
The record is append-only. A pick is logged before the game starts, and afterwards it only settles as a win, a loss, a push or a void. We do not delete a graded pick, hide a loss or rewrite history to look better.
If a number we published turns out to be wrong, we correct it in the open: the date we found it, what was wrong and what it changed, listed on How we measure next to the other errors we have already found in our own work. A correction is added; the earlier figure is not quietly replaced.
